Meet the Founder and CEO
Dr.3 Dakeyan Chá Dré Graham (Dr.3 Dré) is an award-winning and GRAMMY-nominated music educator widely sought out nationally as a inspiration speaker, presenter, and co-author. He served as the Director of Instrumental Studies at his alma mater, C. Leon King High School in Tampa, FL, for 11 years. During this tenure, he was blessed to teach within a classroom that personified the very definition of diversity. Through the lens of his multicultural student body, Dr.3 Dré gained incredible perspective on the significance of intentional, focused, equitable educational experiences and opportunities for ALL students! It was this emphasis on cultivating an environment of belonging, acceptance, tenacity, perseverance, ownership, and independence that ultimately elevated him to being selected as the 2020 Florida Teacher of the Year and Christa McAuliffe Ambassador for Education. Along with this acknowledgement came a platform for his perspective; one that places the needs of ALL students at the foundation of EVERY educational thought. It is from this belief, not only that every student has the potential to succeed, but that they ALL deserve an equitable educational experience tailored to their specific needs, desires, and goals. That conviction birthed Re-Imagining Equity and Learning (R.E.A.L., LLC,), a platform for the sharing of perspective and ideals centered around the learned experience of the educational community (www.realfored.com).
As an advocate and accomplice for diversity, equity, and inclusion in education, Dr.3 Dré continues to fight for a world in which every student has an irrefragable opportunity to pursue the best version of themselves. In this capacity, he also serves as Vice Chair for the Florida Council on the Social Status of Black Men and Boys, and is a member of the education committee and chair of the mentorship committee, having started the Mentors of Male African Americans Network Initiative (M.M.A.A.N. Up), which unites mentorship programs throughout the state of Florida to provide additional access and exposure to continued opportunities to elevate young men of African decent from the lowest performing demographic in the state to one which elevates the surrounding community. Representation matters! Dr.3 Graham was also appointed by the Governor of Florida as a Commissioner for the Florida Commission on Community Service. He is the president of the non-profit organization Instruments of Change, which provides band instruction to students from Title 1 elementary schools. Students who complete the program and continue to pursue music in middle school are provided with an instrument of their choice free of charge. As a board member of Gentlemen’s Quest of Tampa, he continues to provide tutoring assistance and insight to one of the premier mentoring programs in Hillsborough County. He strives to continue impacting the next generation of world changers.
Dr.3 Graham holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Music Education (University of Florida), a Master’s in Educational Leadership (Concordia University), a Ph.D. in Music Education (University of South Florida), an Ed.D. in Learning Design and Performance Technology (Florida State University), and a DMA in Instrumental Conducting (University of Florida). During his tenure in HCPS, his students consistently demonstrated determination, focus, and tenacity as they earned a performance position in the prestigious Carnegie Hall.
A past president of the Hillsborough Secondary Music Council and founder of the Eastern Coalition of Music Directors, Dr.3 Graham travels around the state as an adjudicator for both the Florida Bandmasters and Orchestra Associations. In 2012, Dr.3 Graham was a finalist for Hillsborough County Teacher of the Year and a semi-finalist and quarterfinalist for Grammy Music Educator of the Year in 2013 and 2020, respectively. He was acknowledged as a 2020 LifeChanger of the Year award recipient by National Life Group. Dr.3 Graham has been honored as a 2020 USF Outstanding Young Alumni Award Recipient and one of 40 Gators Under 40 in 2021 for his work in the field of education. In 2023, he was inducted into the C. Leon King High School Hall of Fame as a member of the Wall of Pride for distinguished alumni.
Dr.3 Graham is blessed to share life with his wife, Casey (also an educator), and daughter, Aaliyah.
